Letter to the Editor: It's that time of the year again and we need your help | Community Spirit

BURLINGTON, Iowa--The following was sent to WQAD by a concerned viewer. Please do not assume it represents the views or opinions of our station. The following information has not been verified. As many of you remember this will be our 7th year helping out for the Toys for Tots.  Yes, Cosmo, Mike Johnstone (Our Fearless Sheriff!) and I will be spending Friday night in the SEMI OF LOVE at the Westland Mall in West Burlington as our part to help the kids out.

Talking with our friends with Toys for Tots they say the donations are down and the need is way up!

We have the need for 450 families and over 1,000 kids! This year will be an all-time high.

As everyone knows we all have family and friends hurt by the recent layoffs in Lee county. Many live in our community.This is why I’m reaching out to all of you for your help!

Stop out after noon on Friday or Saturday till 2p.m. and show your support! Help put a smile on a little ones face Christmas Morning! We will also be accepting cash and check donations and we will do the shopping for you!

Please pass this on to everyone you know who can help out. Stop out and challenge your co-workers to do the same!
